Experience

Ascenda was established by Christopher Dean in 2009 to provide bespoke Project Management and Leadership to complex Construction Projects. 

 

Christopher possesses in-depth experience in the strategic leadership, planning, and control of programmes and projects and their inherent business challenges. This is supported by a wide-ranging technical knowledge stemming from the control and leadership of major projects and programmes in the commercial and infrastructure sectors.

 

Over 30 years of experience has enabled Christopher to develop significant levels of capability. This capability encompasses all aspects of the development and business process, with contractors, consultants and client organisations culminating in the roles of Operations Director for Mace Ltd, Programme Director with Transport for London, Construction Director / Leader, Client’s Representative on Cannon Place,  and on his current role in leading the project management and construction phase of the new City of London office development at 52 Lime Street, known as the "Scalpel".

 

Christopher is a Chartered Construction Manager and has acrued extensive experience  from  undertaking leading roles in the development and infrastructure sectors of the Property and Construction industry, these have included:-

 

  • Leading the Construction of the "Scalpel"  W R Berkleys development at 52 Lime Street, a 190m metre office tower over 35 floors.

  • Leading the Project Management and Contract Administration team on major City of London Developments including Hines Uk's 450,000 sq ft air-rights office developement over Cannon Street Station and on Principal Place a mixed use office (600,000 sq ft) and prestige residential development in the City of London.

 

  • Project Director for Transport for London leading the £1 billion West London Tram Project.

 

  • Leading the development and Public Inquirey stages of Network Rail's Thameslink Programme, being responsible as Head of Projects for all of the Civil Engineering and Major Station Developments; successfully taking the schemes through Public Inquiry, contractor procurement and early detailed design.

 

  • Negotiating agreement of the proposals for complying with the extensive Section 106  agreements of the London Bridge Tower, the "Shard of Glass", with Network Rail, London Underground and the London Borough of Southwark.
